Stephen at Camp Kieve, 1986
In 1986, Stephen Banerjee attended Kieve Camp, an educational summer camp for children still run today by the Kieve-Wavus Foundation in Maine. Details of his summer are online at Archive.Org in a yearbook available in several formats to view and download.
Among the entries featuring Stephen:
Saturday, July 5, 1986 (page 47)
…Morning activities went as normal, but we did get a surprisingly large number of qualifications which is terrific! We had a
body building contest to bring in the raft from general swim. Steve Banerjee and Mike Rahman did wonders for our panel of
judges, so their raft, number 4, won it.June 21 (page 77)
There are a few things that need to be mentioned about this episode. Marco spoke perfect English; Dave Gibson and Peter Walmsley admitted they were not scared (sure guys!); Robby Gerard burrowed in his sleeping bag; and finally, Cohn M. made it apparent he was not happy with our acting ability. After we all went to bed, the two boys from Baltimore, Link Farr and Steve Banerjee, came to the council tent with a mild case of agoraphobia (fear of the outdoors). And so Link ended up spending the night with the counselors for protection.
Stephen is mentioned in several other places as participant in various activities and teams.
